Dave's Canterbury Tails goes DIY

Lee & Lesley Busbridge clocked up another win in their Marina on 6th May, from second placed Trevor Hawkins and David Feakes in the TR4.  Dave Hughes' event introduced a new type of control - the unmanned DIY control, where competitors have to enter their own time, which could be either the time they arrive at the board, or the time they decide they should have been there. It proved that nobody was any good at doing the necessary calculations to enter the correct time. Dave optimistically planned nine manned ITCs over the 2 regularity sections, but sadly there weren't enough marshals to cover them all and the last two ITCs had to be abandoned.  Full results are >>HERE

March win for Mayes/Howard

There was a full entry of 12 cars for Tom & John's Regularity Run which finally happened on 25th March after two postponements.  Following the two regularity sections, Graham and Keith in the MGBGT came out winners from runners-up Tim and Dave in the Citroen Saxo.  Full results are >>HERE

January Win for the Busbridge Family

Eleven cars turned out for Graham & Keith's Regularity Run on Sunday 8th January, with Lee & Lesley Busbridge (plus Thomas in the back of the Marina) beating last month's winners Caroline & Colin Gambell by 35 seconds at the finish.  Full results are >>HERE

Winter Series Opens with a Gambell Win

The first Sunday morning Regularity Run of the season took place in North East Kent on 4th December and resulted in a first win for the delighted Caroline & Colin Gambell in their Triumph Herald 13/60.  Andy Gibson set a testing route for the 8 starters, which resulted in Keith Howard making a couple of uncharacteristic plotting errors to miss two codeboards and arrive at the final control much too early.  It was good to have Richard Jeffcoate's Peking-Paris Riley 16/4 Special entered, being on a test run before the following weekend's LeJog, but unfortunately it wasn't explained to Richard and navigator James May that they had to look out for codeboards, so their accumulated codeboard penalties relegated them from a possible 3rd place to last overall.
