Doug Harris
We have to announce the sad news that our President since 1966, Doug Harris, died last week after a period of illness – he was 86 years old. On Thursday 15th May, after a small ‘family’ funeral, there will be a Service of Thanksgiving at All Saints Church, Church Street, Whitstable at 3p.m. - and, afterwards, there will be refreshments at the Marine Hotel, Marine Parade, Tankerton. Any members and old friends who knew Doug are welcome……. Directions to the church coming from the west are: From the Whitstable exit off of the A299, take the second exit each time from three roundabouts, then take the next turning off left into Church Street. All Saints Church is about 300m on the left.

Bert & Ernie's Regularity Run - Sunday 4th May
The 7th and final round of the 2007/8 Blackpalfrey Winter Series championship was run on the glorious Sunday morning of the Mayday Bank Holiday weekend. Starting from Ernie's Plaice Cafe at Whitstable, where most enjoyed a pre-rally cooked breakfast, the first regularity section took a route along the coast at Seasalter, via Graveney, ITCA1 at Brenley Corner, through Perry Wood to IRTCA2 at Rhode Common. Back via two more IRTCs through Boughton, Dargate and finally the delightfully named Bogshole Lane to a coffee stop back at the start cafe. The second regularity section looped around the lanes just south of Herne Bay, through Herne Common, Hoath, Maypole and Marshside, with four more IRTCs and finshing beside the sea at The King Ethelbert pub at Reculver. Despite wrong slotting twice, including on the short run to the start of Regularity A, Steven and Chris Winter managed a win in their Volvo 144. Detailed results can be found >>HERE
