Latest NewsBlackpalfrey' Weald 12-car Rally - Friday February 10thWe're running an evening 12-car rally for the Weald MC's series, starting at 8pm from the Newnham Court Inn at Maidstone (at Notcutt's Garden Centre near M20 J7 and right opposite Vinters Park Crematorium). It's about 45 miles around the North Downs lanes, no regularity, timed to the minute with plot and bash navigation. More important than entries (most come from the other Weald clubs), we're looking for help with the running of the event, such as marshals on time controls and passage controls, plus course opening and closing cars. Please come out and help if you can - Andy Gibson and Brian Millen are waiting to hear from you.

The first Sunday morning Regularity Run of the season took place in North East Kent on 4th December and resulted in a first win for the delighted Caroline & Colin Gambell in their Triumph Herald 13/60. Andy Gibson set a testing route for the 8 starters, which resulted in Keith Howard making a couple of uncharacteristic plotting errors to miss two codeboards and arrive at the final control much too early. It was good to have Richard Jeffcoate's Peking-Paris Riley 16/4 Special entered, being on a test run before the following weekend's LeJog, but unfortunately it wasn't explained to Richard and navigator James May that they had to look out for codeboards, so their accumulated codeboard penalties relegated them from a possible 3rd place to last overall. Full results are >>HERE May Regularity Run - Sunday 1st May The final round of the Winter Series was run on the East Kent map 179 and resulted in a win for Harry Hughes (on his first rally) & Dave Hughes in the Citroen Saxo, from Trevor Hawkins and Simon Ingarfied in the Saab. Here the third place finisher, the Mini of Tim and Sue Adams, gently enters the Patrixbourne ford. Full results are >>HERE

It was a day when the married couples topped the leaderboard, with Caroline & Colin Gambell coming in second and Tim & Sue Adams third. John Fowler & Tom Ash set a delightful route on some roads little used by Blackpalfrey events in recent years. Graham & Keith's Novelty Code Board RunNine cars started the first round of the Winter Series on Sunday 17th October, with the Lotus Cortina of Malcolm Jones & Richard Dresner coming out winners with only 11 seconds dropped. On her first rally, Midge Bennett drove Dave Hughes' Citroen Saxo to second overall. Full results are >>HERE Blackpalfrey Victory on Weald 12-Car RallyLee Busbridge & Dave Hughes took the Morris Marina to 1st overall on the Weald/Blackpalfrey Rod Wray Series 12-Car Rally on the evening of Friday 15th October. Organised by Andy Gibson, the 50-mile 12-car rally had 11 starters, with most being experienced night rally crews from other Weald clubs. Rain started just as the first car left the start at the M20 Maidstone Services, which made for a not too pleasant evening. Several competitors had a moan about our codeboards being stapled to poles etc, but the reason they missed some of them was probably down to the fact that they hadn't read the final instructions thoroughly, hadn't taken note of the sample on show at the start, or navigators hadn't described to their drivers what they should be looking out for while they had their head down plotting. The plot and bash rally featured easier navigation for novices and finished in time for a pint and a snack at The Moat, Wrotham. Full results of the event are >>HERE

Magnette crew wins again and takes Championship It was another win for Graham Mayes and Keith Howard on Charles Harrison's Regularity Run on Sunday 9th May which wrapped up the Winter Series Championship in their favour. In a close second place just 9 seconds behind were Ryan Pickering and Lisa Marshall who had driven their Triumph Vitesse all the way from Southampton to compete. Eight cars started the event and the full results can be found >>HERE
Magnette wins April Run After taking a month out to organise a round, Graham Mayes & Keith Howard returned in the MG Magnette to win the April Regularity Run. Passage checks using signposts made a change from looking for codeboards, but inaccuracies cost several crews dearly, including Max & Dave Hughes who could have made it two wins in a row if they had read a signposts pointing to Perry Wood properly. Sadly only six cars started and marshals were in short supply as well, but all cars kept close to the time schedule allowing Andy Elcomb to dash around and marshal four IRTCs. Full results are >>HERE and for those who could not make it, the route instruction handout is >>HEREMarch Hare ResultsNine cars turned out for our second evening 12-car rally, a 50-mile route through 8 time controls starting and finishing at The Plough. Plot and bash route instructions tested the navigators and all were caught out with at least one wrong approach. Despite their wrong approach to the final TC, Chris Scudder and Andy Elcomb took the win by 4 minutes from the Morris Minor Traveller of Richard Dresner and Chris Winter. Full results are >>HERE
